Taking care of yourself 

Here’s what I did today: I napped, I lounged around and watched Netflix. You know what, it was absolutely glorious, and definitely needed.
I’m the person that puts everyone and everything before myself. I will always put myself last. I try not to but it’s who I am. I give and give and give, and when I can’t give anymore, I breakdown.
I need to remember that I’m not responsible for everyone. I can’t fix everything. I need to remember that my mental and physical health is important too. Honestly, doing absolutely nothing today was the best thing I could’ve done. I essentially had a ‘Mental Health Day’. Because of that, I am now happy, relaxed and I don’t feel like the weight of the world is on my shoulders. It’s great!
Here are my strategies to take care of myself:

1. Sleep in – take some time to catch up on sleep.

2. Yoga – I find yoga really calming and soothing (I need to make some time so I can do it more than once a week).

3. Have a day to myself – find a day where you have nothing planned and keep it that way. Enjoy a cuppa, read a book you’ve been meaning to start or take a bath.
